BC Vape Laws in 2026: What Every Adult Vaper Should Know

British Columbia has some of Canada's strictest vaping rules. Here's a plain-language summary. Always check the official sources linked below for the latest rules.
Legal age: 19
The legal age to buy vapour products in BC is 19 (Government of BC). Every Vape Shack store checks government-issued photo ID, and online orders may need ID on delivery.
Flavoured products are sold in adult-only stores
In BC, flavoured e-substances other than tobacco flavour can only be sold in age-restricted stores that only people 19 and older can enter (BC retailer requirements). That's why our stores are adult-only.
Nicotine limit: 20 mg/mL
Across Canada, vaping products can't exceed 20 mg/mL nicotine (Health Canada). Every nic salt we sell is at or below that limit.
20% PST on vapour products
Since January 1, 2020, BC charges 20% PST on vapour products (BC Ministry of Finance). Our prices always show the tax, so what you see is what you pay.
Nicotine-free flavour-only liquids
BC retailers may only sell vapour products that contain nicotine, nicotine salts or cannabis; flavour-only products can't be sold (Government of BC).
Where you can vape
Vaping follows the same rules as smoking in BC: no vaping in workplaces, on transit or near doorways, windows and air intakes. Check local bylaws, as many cities have extra rules.
